Key Skills
Valuation
Specialising in the valuation of all types of rural property and assets. Experienced in valuations for all specialist purposes particularly taxation, probate and secured lending.
Experienced in the valuation of live and dead stock, annual stocktaking and hill sheep stock valuations.
Sales
Specialist in the sale and acquisition of agricultural land, rural property, farms and estates.
Experienced in the sale of live and dead stock by auction acting as one of the firm’s auctioneers at Farm Stock Sales and Dispersals.
Landlord/ Tenant
In depth knowledge of Landlord / Tenant issues relating to Farm Business Tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies. Experienced in the preparation of tenancy agreements, resolution of disputes, rent review, dilapidations and repairs notices, notices to quit and tenancy surrenders.
Compulsory Purchase and Compensation
Experienced in negotiating with all types of acquiring authorities regarding all aspects of Compulsory Purchase and Compensation particularly wayleaves, easements, land acquisition and compensation on behalf of land owners and occupiers affected by water pipelines, electricity and gas mains and road schemes.
Planning and Development
Experienced in the submission of planning applications, the provision of planning advice and guidance, specialising on applications and appraisals for agricultural dwellings and modern and traditional farm buildings.
Subsidies and Grants
In depth knowledge of Single Payment Scheme, agricultural subsidies and grants.
Experience
Extensive experience working on farms and Scottish Highland Estates and also with a National Farm Management Company

Elected Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in October 2005.

Education
BSc (Hons) Degree Rural Land Management - Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester
Member Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
