Last week we held our inaugural George F. White Charity golf day raising money for Children with Cancer UK at the stunning Alnmouth Golf Club.
A total of 23 teams entered and took on the dry but blustery conditions at Foxton to meet the challenge of becoming the first winners of the event.
Throughout the day all participants dug deep and were very generous which has enabled us to be in a position to donate £2,500 to Children with Cancer UK.
There were some fantastic scores coming in throughout the day and the winning team, Last of the Summer Wine (R Phillipson, R Fail, J McBryde and O Burn) won with a score of 93 points. In joint second place were the Morpeth Practice, St James Place and The Rutherfords with 92 points.
A number of smaller competitions were held during the day including the longest drive and nearest to the pin. Congratulations go to Sue Brierley for female longest drive, Scott Ramage took the honours for male longest drive and Val Robson collected a prize for winning nearest to the pin.
We are hugely grateful to all the teams for their support and incredibly proud to be in the position to be able to make such a donation to a charity whose cause has touched several of those organising and taking part in the event.
Our thanks also to our hosts Alnmouth Golf Club for the use of their facilities and kind hospitality during the event and to Greggs for their kind donation.
Congratulations once again to all the winners and we are already very much looking forward to 2022!
