Rural GFW 1st November 2022

EXPLORING THE OPPORTUNITIES TO OVERCOME THE CHALLENGES FOR FARMERS IN THE NORTH EAST

The region’s farmers are living through unprecedented times; the soaring price of fertiliser, animal feed, energy and red diesel as well as the removal of direct support have all placed mounting pressures on rural businesses.

On account of these growing challenges, it is essential that farmers are supported to be able to manage their cash flows effectively and capitalise on the opportunities available whilst fully utilising their assets.

We invite rural businesses to discuss the current challenges they are facing, offering advice and support at two free seminar events this November.

Topics will include:

·         The land market and the impact of rising interest rates

·         Future opportunities for renewable energy

·         Farming natural assets

·         Managing the increasing cash demand

·         Rural grants update

Elliot Taylor, Partner and Farm Business Consultant at George F. White, said: “As a result of the multiple pressures the farming industry is facing today, many farmers are finding it difficult to manage cash flow, mitigate risk and to know what is best for their business going forward. For farmers to ride out these challenging times, doing nothing is really not an option, so we want to show what opportunities do exist and how they can be capitalised upon. We encourage all rural businesses to come along to our seminar events and join us in discussing the challenges that the farming industry is facing at the moment and how they can best prepare for the future.”

George F. White has always supported rural businesses across Northern England and the Boarders during the many and varied changes and challenges the farming industry has faced. Elliot explains: “Our team of specialists includes Farm Business Consultants, Chartered Surveyors, Planning Consultants and Land and Estate Agents, meaning we can provide a holistic approach to identify opportunities, helping our clients to succeed.

“Our clients include all types of farming businesses, from the traditional family farm to many diverse and complex farming businesses.  We advise on a wide range of topics such as farm business planning and restructuring, farm diversifications, succession planning and environmental consultancy.”

The seminars will take place on the 9th of November at Hexham Mart and 17th of November at the Holiday Inn Scotch Corner. For more information and to book a place, visit George F. White Events | Eventbrite.
